WCHA is joining businesses, organizations, schools, municipalities, and individuals for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Buckle Up Phone Down campaign.
“Work zone accidents, injuries and fatalities are almost entirely preventable. Drivers need to slow down, put their phones away and pay attention to their surroundings,” said WCHA Executive Director Dan Fedderly, P.E.; P.L.S. “We are proud to stand alongside WisDOT to bring attention to this important issue and we encourage our highway departments to take the Buckle Up Phone Down Campaign pledge.”
Highway departments from around the state are submitting their pictures to WisDOT and can be viewed in the photo gallery here.
Fedderly concluded, “We need to all work together to bring about changes to driver behavior and create a safer workplace for our dedicated county highway employees, as well as those on Wisconsin roadways,”
